I can't get the miner to recognise the 6th GPU, it is showing up on the GPU-Z so would I be correct in assuming it's a problem with the miner?

  • Amoy Bisaya

Does SMOS work with this mobo?

PSA!!! Go to Settings\Advanced\Windows OS Configuration and Enable Windows 8.1/10 WHQL Support. This finally did it for me after three straight days of troubleshooting and messing with all the other settings in this video one by one and rage quitting several times (expand comment for my notes and settings).Note, when you enable the Windows10 support, a few other BIOS changes take place automatically as well. I went back and manually changed them back to what they were so that the only change was the Windows10. I'm not sure if this step is necessary.FIRST THOUGH, I would:Unplug all GPUs and install Windows firstInstall the GPU drivers (either online if you can connect to the internet or via USB)Then add each GPU one by one, shut down and repeatMy other BIOS settings:PEG0 - AutoPCI Latency - 32Above 4G - EnabledHD Audio - Disabled (not sure if this does anything)IGD - EnabledRestore after power loss - EnabledPC now recognizes all 6 GPUs. I will edit any of the above settings if the mining itself is unstable (can't connect to the web to test yet; separate issue).

I finally got this stupid motherboard to work: first I installed the latest bios from msi, then all I did was install a fresh copy of windows home, connected only one GPU, installed the latest drivers from Nvidia, then installed the GPU one by one rebooting after every GPU making sure the system detects it. After the 3rd GPU I went into the bios: PEG0=Gen2, PCI latency=96, 4G=enabled, integrated graphics=PEG. I restarted, plugged the monitor into the GPU that's in a x16 slot, continued to put 4,5 & 6th GPU every time rebooting after connecting a card.... Hehehe

I have a 6GPU Mining rig. Consists of MSI Z270-A Pro mother board and 6 x Sapphire Radeon RX580 8GB Pulse with Micron memory. In the large PCI slot that is closest to the CPU, all cards, when tested individually, can get 31mh/s. When I use all the GPUs, (in the other large PCI slot & the 3 small PCI slots), only one of the GPUs (the one in the large PCI closest to the CPU) will get 31mh/s, while the others will get only 21mh/s.I am not sure if I need to change a setting in the motherboard or reflash the bios on the GPUs?It did the same prior with the original bios on the GPUs. (I was getting 27 & 18 mh/s respectively)Any suggestions? can anyone shed some light? I have googled this problem to no avail. Thanks in advance
