BBT Episode 12: 6x nVidia 750Ti - MSI Twin Frozr Litecoin Dogecoin Mining Rig

BEST VIEWED IN 1080p HD (once post processing completed!)

In this episode the BBT sets out and builds a 6x 750Ti rig and trys to stay under 500w for TOTAL system power when hashing. Additionally the team walks through end to end on the build from installing windows, to the driver and the settings.

NOTES: BEFORE LAUNCHING CUDAMINER, Launch CHROME (it can just set on default screen, has a 10-12 k/h increase

We were able to do this by not modifying the TDP and staying with stock values provided by the MSI Twin Frozr graphics card.

Base configuration used in this build:
BBT 6 GPU Open Air Mining Rig (v.2.0)
Intel G1820 Celeron CPU
1x 1x by 16x 30cm ribbon riser (powered, plugged in) Flyconn Brand
5x 1x by 16x 15cm ribbon risers (non powered) Flyconn Brand
4gb Corsair Ballistix DDR3 12800
Kingston 120gb SSD

Hi bud just spotted on this build is it 750tis without the 6 pin rail, drawing 65 watts through the 1x ribbon cables? I avoided this as I've read somewhere it'd be 5 amps and dangerous on the ribbon is that all complete tosh mate?

  • Johnny V

Just a heads up,  over at the Evga forums, one of our members found a tweak with cudaminer that can be done to get 4xx khash/s out of the 750ti.  He has passed that info onto the dev of cudaminer for further research.

I'm currently running only one Asus Nvidia GTX 750 Ti 2GB OC card and getting between 260 and 275 kh/s. Now the site I mine through shows the hashes in time increments of 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour and 1 day and I'm getting 12 Gh/s for 5 minutes, 15.75 Gh/s for 15 minutes, 17.50 Gh/s for 1 hour and 17.68 Gh/s for 1 day. This is what I'm getting at this minute. The amounts fluctuates a lot and I have seen the low as 15 Gh/s with highs over 20 Gh/s off just 1 card that it running at stock speeds. To me it seems these cards are built for mining.

Your video inspired me to make me start mining, this years is gtx 750ti worth tp budget mining to prevent got high cost of bill electricity ?thank ;3

where do you get the money for all these awesome rigs?

  • RamcioELDiablo

say me pleas. $ in one day profit with the system.

What do you think about vertcoin?

  • d3rrial

I have 3x 750Tis in my miner, I even flashed the BIOS to raise the TDP limit, but for some reason only one card is above 300kh/s the other two are at around 200kh/s...I have the newest drivers, all risers are unpowered, and I'm using the h81 pro btc with 4GB of system ram, same processor as you, windows 8.1 450W PSU

  • Matt Relax

Hi bits' hope you're well. I'm building 750ti rigs, 18 cards so far :).-Quick mention, is it ok to put the antistatic bags on stuffs isn't it conductive on the outside (I only care bru i know i might be wron)I agree a message to all, make sure those auto updates don't roll on a fresh install!Don't suppose you could message me and point me in the direction of the OS image and mounting etc ones I've tried have failed.Cheers buddy!P.S I'm trying these "Sandisk Enterprise 32GB mSATA Internal SSD" they're real cheap and I think 8.1 is 16gb, got a bunch I'll let you know if they work.

  • J_Destroyer75

please do 6 r9290x2s in one rig

  • irfando andrianto

can u give me one of ur vga??:D

  • ImaginationToForm

Looks to be a good mining card.  Can these be used with 7850s on the same motherboard? Obviously I would have to use cuda miner for these and cgminer for 7850s.

  • Robby Adger-Barton

Awesome video!  I'm working with a 3 GTX 750 ti system right now.  Question:  why use MSI Afterburner, as opposed to EVGA Precision X?  Just curious.

  • Marked Eye - Entrepreneur and Gamer

    is this still working?

  • Alex Errock

Hey guys, ive been having no end of trouble getting 8.1 to utilise all 6 750 ti, they are all recognised in the device manager but one always shows a system 43 error, i have tried reinstalling drivers etc. but it doesnt seem to work. i was wondering if you had the same issues and if you had any suggestions?

  • mike johnson

Will the Intel G1820 Celeron CPU and 4gb Corsair Ballistix DDR3 12800 work on a 6 card R9 270 build? I'm using the H81 BTC Pro MOB. Asking because of the obvious savings on hardware. 4GB RAM and Slower processor will save money on builds. Thanks in advance for answering my noob questions.

  • Thij Steeghs

Don't you need a internal harddrive to run windows? or can I just use a Usb stick with windows on it. (got a 16 gb one)

  • Jr Drones

What's the point of giving the cards more power in msi afterburner?

  • mike johnson

    Been waiting on this build.

  • Riki Rismawan

hello BBT.. i'm still reviewing but curious to get VGA CARD MSI N750 TI 2GD5/OC V1 is it good/similar use with nVidia 750Ti - MSI Twin Frozr ?? & how many litecoin do you make per month? Thanking you for a good explanation to an indonesian newbie in this coin universe lol

  • Huy Nguyễn Ngọc

Can you tell me .GTx 750ti should dig these kinds of coinsthanks u

  • Harry Doyle

BBT, Thanks for sharing.  I have a rig with 4 MSI Twin Frozr 750Ti 2GB (nVidia) cards and I'm only able to get 180-205 kh/s on each card.  Downloading the newest Cuda drops my kh/s to 160 (I've been using cuda from december 2013).  I've downloaded the lastest drivers, not sure what else to do.1xIntel Pentium Processor G32204x PCIe 1x to 16x Powered Flexible Riser Extender Cable with Molex2x Corsair Vengeance Blue 4GB1xKingston 60gb SSD4x MSI Twin Frozr 750Ti 2GB (nVidia)1x Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Wattcudaminer.exe -o stratum+tcp:// -u user.worker -p password -i 0 --device 0 -l T5x24 -C 1 -H 3

can someone explain me what does a miner do in simple words? thank u

  • Ramses

Why don't you use a pool? You would get way better results

  • redfive1993

dude what do you think about the new asics?

  • Sylvain Flipot

Nice thanks :)Did you notice if using PCI-E riser cost you some hash? Perhaps one card can go directly on the 16XDoes their is a particular reason to use one powered riser or its just because you  had it in stock? Thanks for your vid :)

  • Kenneth Nicholson

Is it possible to mine with AMD and Nvidia on the same motherboard? I have am currently mining with 2 750ti and have a spare 270x laying around. Would love to hook up my 270x for added hashing power if possible.
